If there 3.27 you'll be fine, you'll just notice a different feel in the gas pedal when you take off from a stop. 3.73 would be better and 4.10 probably would be best.
I have 3.27's and am running 31" MT's. I do have a manule tranny and it's a good deal lower than the auto. But you should be ok, there's one guy here running 32" or 33"s with 3.27's (but he doesn't offroad i don't think). I really don't have too many problems with it, yeah it'll bog down abit on a long hill in 5th gear but not too bad. I can stil pass people pretty well. Offroad in first it's pretty good still...i just built a hand thottle and can easily redline it. Anyway good luck man, seems like your gonna have a lifted ex soon!
I went to 3.73's (from 3.27's) when I went to 31's. I strongly rcomend doing so if you have an auto tranny. The stock tranny in the X is marginal at best, and the added stress of trying to turn the 31's could be too much and extreemly shorten the life of the tranny.
not mad or anything....but can anyone answer my ??......about how much 4.10 gears cost.......and if i do with some 31's how much will my speedo be off.........im SERIOUS the biggest im gonna go is 31's........i cant afford nothing bigger
I'm running 31" all terrains with my 5.0 AWD, im not sure of what gears are in mine, but they don't seem to have changed the way the truck performs or accelerates...will this kill my tranny if i don't change the gears from stock?
