i wanted to change my rear end to a 4.10 gear, because next summer, i will be running 31's and towing a utility trailer with a couple of 4 wheelers so i figured that the gearing would keep it from being doggy how much should this cost with labor and parts? could i do it myself, also how much of a difference is it, i currently have the 3.27 gearing. thanks

Just to have someone else to do the rear, you are talking $400-$700.

The usual response around here is "if you have to ask if you can do it yourself, you probably can't." I would agree with this. Regearing isn't a shadetree mechanic job unless you have learned from someone who knows what they are doing.

Remember also, if you are 4wd, you must regear the front end also.

With 31s, the difference between 3.27 and 4.10s should be night and day.

cool well i got a guy that qouted me a price of 200 bucks for labor, i just have to buy the parts, how much would the parts cost and what all do i need to get.

You need to get the ring & pinion gears, and a master install kit. These should run between $180-$250.

whats the master install kit, and i ca get either motive gear performance or richmond performance gears which would be better, i perfer to get one of these because i can get a discount through work

I used motive gears in my rear and have had no problems. I have heard that motive gear is a little harder to set up, I did not do the worlk. Ask your installer.
