One owner of 91 XLT 4X4 with 310,000 Engine is original but the trans has problems again. (Lost count) But I tow a Tournment ski boat with it.
I'm new to this whole process I posted this somewhere else but then found this form.
I have a good working knowledge of the trans but this time it is stumping me. One day out of the blue no 4th (overdrive) and no engine braking trans goes to neutral on closed throttle back to 3rd on throttle and 2nd or even 1st no engine braking at all. The trans works and shift normal other than that.
I have checked both solenoids and the signal to them. The trans is getting the command to go to OD. Also checked the valve body for any sticking valves. I have no significant debris. Checked band adjustment and air checked OD band servo. Trans has 90K since last OH.
Any suggestions before I pull it again
