Replacing ALL u-joints on my 2003 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD. Is there anything specific I need to know about the different Moog or DANA U-joints? Or can I use anything that fits in all locations? I think I need a total of 6 or 7 U-joints?

How did you count 6 or 7 u-joint? I count 3 u-joints for the front and rear drive shaft.

Front

Rear

I would prefer greaseable rear 2x DANA 513301X and front 1x DANA 513101X, they came with different colored clips to ensure the right cap endplay.
Other say do not use greasable u-joints, matter of persuasion.

Wow. Thank you very much. I just purchased 2x 280, and 2x 270 (Moog super Strength U-joints) from Auto Zone, which are greaseable, thinking that I grew up with greaseable U-Joints, since having the "sealed" U-joints (non-greaseable) weren't as good as greaseable. I don't know why, other than what I was taught as a kid (old school)??? Thoughts???

Answer: 6 or 7 was calculated on a schematic photo I saw online, which was a generic photo of a 4wd system (bad me).... So I really appreciate all the help since I was led down the wrong "rabbit-whole" (AGAIN) trying to find the correct answers! Man, I love you guys for helping me out!

HOLY-COW.... I just reviewed the links to the instructions you provided.... OK, I get it! I'm thinking "sealed" is much better since regular service on a greaseable unit is "unpracticable" due to location (having to tear everything apart every time you need to service it)!!

Thanks again!
