Hello All,
I'm looking to get a used Ford Explorer with 4-wheel drive. Right now, I'm looking through the 99-01 area.
I've done a lot of searching through this site and really got a lot of my questions answered already.
However, I'm still a bit curious about the automatic transmission options that were available.
On most of the Explorers I looked at, the shifter was on the steering column. But, on another I looked at, it was on the console.
I was thinking that maybe the one on the console was a 5-speed, but I'm not too sure.
Anyway, does someone have an idea as to why one shifter would be on the console and the others on the steering column? Oh, and the one in the console was an XLT.
Thanks and sorry for asking such a noobish questions.
