They are probably about 3/8" - 1/2" wide. I have not actually put these on or taken off the boot yet so I dont really know what it looks like in there but I would imagine that you could use anything that is wide enough to fix your problem. They cost me about $25 including shipping from Steeda. I dont think they would cost any more than that at Ford.
