I am going to be buying/installing a used 4R70W in my 1998 Ford Explorer 5.0L V8 AWD. Is there anything I should be worrying about.
My assumptions are
*Clean looking fluid is a sign of good maintenance.
*I should change the fluid and filter before installation.
*I don't need to change/modify the torque converter, valve body or anything else while the transmission is out of the truck.
*There are no better transmissions that can be easily swapped in to my rig.
*Good maintenance is more important to the mileage on the vehicle.
