from left to right: Stoner's Invisible Glass (a little better than eagle one because it is an aerosol can and foams), 3M Rubbing Compound (bought at a local pepboys), PaintScratch Rubbing Compound (ordered off the site with touchup paint), Eagle One Auto Glass Cleaner (also from local pepboys), 2 Microfiber towels (one smooth and one with fine fibers), and Rain-X Window WAx (the bottle looked ancient so there may be a newer version out there; seemed to work ok though)

Nice work! I've been quite fond of using Bon Ami kitchen cleanser on my windshield when washing the car- it's non abraisive so it doesn't scratch, but takes all of the grime, gunk, and bugs off very easily. I've even used it on the mocha leather of my Taurus SHO with a toothbrush- worked wonders...

Great job!

I've had sap on my windshield for a while now and have not been able to remove it. I'm going to try something related to this--hit it with an abrasive polish and my PC buffer. It shouldn't scratch the glass, but should clean everything off.

yea i agree with that... use a rubbing compound or a shine restorer with a buffer to go across the glass... it wont scratch it up cuz the glass is really tough... wipe the glass clear with some glass cleaner or maybe even just a towel to get the haze off and it should leave a clean surface... i suggest applying the rain-x cuz it worked wonders for me today in the rain... water runs rite off

I have always used #0000 steel wool dry
The blow the crud off with compressed air and then Stoners Invisable Glass and paper towels.
I'll have to try your trick some time.

The polishing compound's an interesting idea. I've heard of people having great success with Bon Ami and Barkeepers Friend. But I've also heard of people ending up with fine scratches from using them. So I've been reluctant to try either.

On the other hand, I'll add my voice to those who like Stoner's Invisible Glass. This is easily the best glass cleaner I've ever used.

I've never had scratches on any of my cars from Bon Ami. Let the cleanser work, don't put 200 lbs. of pressure on it- I use my hand when I wash the windshields. When I got my 2004 Taurus new, I didn't hesitate to use it at all. I don't use it on teh side glass, only becasue I don't want it in the door felt. I'm sure I could rinse it all out, but I'm only worried about road grime, etc on the windshield.

I also use invisible glass and microfibers for normal glass cleaning.
