Glass on tailgate rattling

The glass on the tailgate of my explorer raddles BADLY because of my subs. Any suggestions? I compete in competitions and the judges look (hear) stuff like that. What can I do?

Try putting dynomat all over the inside of the liftgate and the cargo area. It might cost a hundred or two but it's money well spent.

Instead of spending all that money (even though doing Dynomat would be awesome) why not just buy some THICK DOUBLE SIDED TAPE and but it along the window jam? Get some black tape so you cannot see it. I use double sided padded tape on tons of things to help with speaker vibration. Its cheap and easy to do. Its also a great cure for license plate rattling.

I used dynomat on the tail gate of my Navajo the 10" jl was rattleing the Tail gate for $40 sheet of Dynomat the gate stopped rattleing...

All you're really trying to do is weigh the thin plastic parts down. Dynamat works, and 40 dollars isn't that bad if you're only going to do the hatch. If you want to do the whole thing, well, then that's a different story. Some audio buffs will even use roofing material that weatherproofs a roof, and some swear by it, although the car will smell for about two weeks. After that it's all gone. In used the new spray on sound deadner by Dynomat for all my doors and rear fenders. The stuff works great and there is not much of a "lasting" odor. Its only there for a week or so and comes on strong if you have had your windows locked up in the sun. Just leave the windows open a crack and your problem will be solved.

If I am correct, your rear tailgate problem is not caused by anything other than the locking latch on the window. The tape has probably worn out and the metal that is exposed is now touching the metal from the lock. Your quick, two dollar fix will require purchasing a pack of the 1" inch velcro and rip the old tape off, replace it with a piece of the fuzzy side velcro. The lock will be very tight and the glass will not rattle at all.
