ARMY ARMY ARMY!!!! j/k the Flyboys are cool. well have to get together next time I come down there.

noone paid any attention to this in the sport truck cruises forum. so Ill ask here, Is anyone going to Pigeon Forge for the NOPI southeastern finals?

I paid attention to that post...and even replied to it. I'm not sure if I am going to be able to make it yet though. Keep checking the origional thread for updates if I find something out.

P.S. Pics will be back up soon...and they will stay up this time.

Yeah I know you did Godfather, but your the only one that did. YOU DA MAN!!

What about a 1993 4DR 2WD XLT???

Will these methods work for a 1993 XLT as well? If not, what will work? Thanks!

-JB

JBlack: this method won't work for your 93, the front suspension is different and has coil springs.

this thread should help:Dead Link Removed

mad

MadMatt your ride is awesome and are those 18 inch rims and did they run you a lot of money.:D

Ok, pics should be back up now....I hope.

Please don't link to them...I'm not going to ask again. I'm not paying for host space so I can only link them to one place at a time (or so I've found lately)

Thank's to Ben I do have a website now. It is not ready for the public yet, but Ben or I will post it as soon as it is. There is an FAQ section that I fully expect you guys to help me fill :D I know you have already asked most of your qestions, but please ask them again there so that I answer the right things. Also feel free to ask questions pertaining to anything else that you would like so that I can make the FAQ support on the site more useful.

Money is tight right now, but I promise more mods are comming soon. Project X lives!

Thank you for putting up with my lazyness. Now I need to get of my butt and finish getting info for the site.

Hey Godfather, sorry for not responding to the e-mail yet, but I've been busy at work....

Anyways. Have you had any problems to date with your 3" drop?? Also, did you use the stock shocks and if so did u have to use a shock compressor to change them if and when they needed it??? I'm wondering if I should order the Edelbrock shocks for lowered explorers....

PS: Describe the ride as specifically as possible (in different situations too... going over speed bumps, hitting pot holes, etc)

I was just taking a good look at the tbar adjuster pics and I understand the process but I'm not seein how that makes it lower. The part that the adjuster bolt touches is higher in the stock position than it is after you flipped it. So to me that seems like it would help for lifting the front not lowering it. Now, obviously I'm wrong because you guys did it but could someone please clarify this for me? Thanks.

When I was thinking about it I thought the same as you. When you actually do the procedure you can easily tell how much less pressure is on the torsion bars once you flip the adjuster. So, even though the adjuster looks like it sits up higher in the stock position, it takes a LOT more pressure to get it in there.

Hmmmm. I guess I'll never understand unless I do it.

you'll understand it if you do it, thats the only way i actually understood HOW it worked

If I wanted to go lower I'd do it in a second. I know it would look nice if I did but I'm pretty happy with the 2" drop... and besides, it's a 4x4.

Question.....how do you get the bar to stay in its hole when you've flipped it? It used to sort of latch on to the hole due to the shape of the t-bar key.....How do you get it to stay??

No, I have not done the procedure yet, but I have looked at some pictures and sat under my car....

If you drop it more than, say 2", what problems will you experience in everyday driving? Other than ground clearance.

Thanks.....

From what I hear, there are no everyday driveability issues with a 3" drop. However, I would judge my current information as inconclusive as of yet as no one actually makes responses such as "I have a 3" drop and I love it. I have no problems.".......However, I'm guessing that if you can lower it 2" with no problems, you can't be running into too many more problems by going that extra inch.

Now does anybody know how to get the torsion key to stay in the hole once it's been flipped?? It seems to be shaped to grab the bar in the hole only if it's facing the right direction..........Anybody done the torsion flip?? (COUGH GODFATHER COUGH NOT ANSWERING MY EMAIL COUGH COUGH COUGH  :D )

Mine wont stay in either. all I did was put it in place and then put that metal cover back on. it seems to do the job.

i went 4 inches in front, 2 in back. Its been this way for... uh 2 months or so. No problems really, i need to cut a little more off my front and rear bumbers, as i ocassionaly bottom out. Also my shocks are starting to go bad. Bouncy bouncy til I have money to get new ones. I'm still happy with my drop. It works fine in 4wd as well.
