Just a little fyi,

When I first removed the torsion bolts I was told that I didn't need to worry about the bump stops. Well, I finally decided to check and see how much room there was between the bump stops and the a-arms. The bump stops were resting on the a-arms. I cut the bumps in half and now there is room for suspension travel.

Just thought anybody doing the torsion lowering might want to know this!

Hey how did you guys get the "Universal" U bolts to fit in back? how did you squeez them together?

HUGE pipe wrench... for me was a 2 person job.

the knob on the top of the lowering block doesn't match up with the other end for it to go in on the bottom of the axel, its like the knob on the top of the block is 1/4-1/2 inch too far forward, help?

need help!!!

Once you place the block on the leaf spring lower the rear end onto it. I had to push the axle a little to get it to line up!

k thanks, i'll try

yeah, mine didnt line up either. I had to have my dad control the jack while I put my back against the wall and pushed on the axle with my feet. I had to stretch the ubolts to get them to fit around the axle and I used some clamps to pull the ubolts back together once I had them on to fit in the holes.

how do i move the axle...it has to go about 1/2 inch forward for the hole in the bottom of it to line up with the knob stickin up on the blocks..

That is why I went out and bought the correct size ubolts. It was much easier to line up the axle that way!

its not the u bolts, its the nob on the top of the block...

Right, but because of the way you had to force the ubolts, the axle does not move freely to line it up properly!

what are the right size u bolts?

well the thing isn't lined up... any clues?

I believe they are 3 3/8 with a 9/16ths bolt size. Also, if you use these ubolts you will have to drill out the holes in the plate the connects to the shocks with a 5/8ths steel drill bit!

any help on moving the axle?

PUSH!!! Do you have both sides of the axle detached? That made it easier for me. I had to give it all I had to get it lined up.

detach both sides of the axel, jack up the frame, and push the axel really hard while it is on the ground, is this how you got it to line up? mine still isn't lined up...

ok, jack up the truck, put jack stands in. put the jack under the center of the differential and DO NOT LET IT TOUCH THE DIFF. COVER! jack the axle, not the truck, up enough to get the blocks in. the blocks will sit on the leaf springs and fit into the little notch. your troubles come in when you try to lower the axle down onto the blocks. you need 2 people to do this. lower the axle so that it is very close to the block. have one person operate the jack and the other person push on the axle to try to get it aligned (whichever way you need to push). this was quite hard for me to do as i had my back up against the wall and both feet on the brake rotor pushing. there is no easy way to do it other than push hard in the direction it needs to go.
