Not really. A solid axle is a solid axle. A TTB is a different type of IFS, it's just not A arm stle.

TTB and IFS are not the same thing they may have similarities like that of not being a solid axle but there completely diff TTB have crossmember goin across IFS dont im not exactly sure wat IFS is composed of its like spindles or sumthin

Your TTB doesn't have any spindles?

hell if i know

TTB is IFS Independent front suspension. If a hole is hit with one tire, and only one tire, it is affected, not the other side, which is same to the short and long arm design (A-arms so to speak) on the later explorers. How they specifically work is different, but they are both IFS! On a solid axle, if one tire hits a hole, the other tire is directly affected, as they are directly connected.

Simple as that, TTB is IFS in my book, always will be and both SLA and TTB are completely different than a solid axle...

and its AXLE not axel

Onward we go!

Then why quibble? :p You have an IFS setup. Admitting that is the first step on the road to recovery. ;)

Whahaaa!!

You guys just ain't right! :D

Is it a solid axle? If "No", you have IFS. The TTB is a type of hybrid, but it is IFS. Say it softly, "I have IFS".

ehh watever im against the entire world on this one so im done all i wanted from this was to figure ot a good way to get 4x4 ok. lol

p.s. they aint the same:D

Like Alec said, and I blindly didn't realize, a SAS is the "best" way to convert to 4x4.

JThelen:

Like you I will never call my TTB an IFS. :nono:
It is much more heavy-duty compared to a freakin' Stock front suspension on say a '95. I shall also never sucumb(sp?) to your peer pressure and say I have IFS. :mattmoon:

Front axle denial...

Here is a satelite pic of DeNile!

um yeah okay... there's IFS and Solid axles not much in between... but to each his own

I am going to say no on this. A SAS is not the Best way to convert to 4x4 take it from a guy that has done 2 4x4 conversions and is working on a SAS.

By "best" I meant you get both a solid axle and 4x4, granted it's is a lot more work and $$$.

LMFAO! What would we do without Robb!

12 steps to recovery of IFS:
1. Admit you have IFS
2. Admit you were wrong for paying $$ for 2wd.
3. Seek counseling for IFS
4. Mod IFS to make it look better on the outside
5. Seek counseling for moding IFS
6. Tell your wife you was wrong for moding IFS
7. Seek long travel for IFS
8. Justify with the wife for the SAS
9. Seek counseling for all the time in R&D of SAS
10. Install SAS
11. Thank the wife for being supportive with the SAS
12. Start moding SAS

I'm on step 10 of recovery...install solid axle!

That picture did have me rolling! :D
