I just picked up the truck and the BFG AT ko's look great. They fit no problem w/ a bit of twisting on the torsion bars, and NO modifications to the rear end (yet). I have the OME 2" springs on order from OK4x4, and should be able to pick them up next week (also got new poly bushings for them). Here's my question:

Once I put the rear springs in I'm sure I'm gonna want to adjust the torsion bars some more to try and equal out the front and back. I know I don't wanna go all the way w/ them, but how far should I go now? I was thinking that I should twist them all the way, and then back off maybe a half or full turn. Does this sound safe? I do have the "B" bars and think the truck rides a bit high any way. I may not have to go that far at all to catch up to the rear OME springs, but then again, while I'm picking up the springs, I may just get a front brush guard. This'll probably weigh the front end down a bit, right? Thanx all,

jw, most here have said that you can raise the front a maximum of just under 2". I just did mine, and the driver's side is nearly all the way in (maybe 1 turn out from max), while the passinger side is only about 3/4 of the way in. I had previously adjusted them to even out the famous "Explorer lean" that seems to occur on some late models. The lean stayed even with the new springs, so its probably in the chassis. BTW, it seems like you get about 1/4" per revolution on the adjusting bolt, give or take a little.

At any rate, give the OME springs about a week to settle; mine dropped about 1/2" in a couple of days, after which they seem to be holding their height. I'm sitting almost perfectly level front to rear, with a very slight height advantage to the rear as measured by the fenders.

The B bars should work well with the added weight of the front brush guard. I have the D's and they seem to be decent without a brush guard.

Thanx much!

Now, maybe after I save a bit of money up, I'll be ready to go on one of those Pine Barrens Runs!!
