Hey i was just wondering i've got 220 watt pioneer 6x8 oval speakers for the back doors and i was wondering r they supposed to be getting any bass cause at the moment the only thing getting bass would be the subwoofer, so i was alittle concerned, i dunno if thats the way its supposed to be or is it my speakers.....thanks

The Pioneers are know for having little bass response, but think that the stock HU doesn't send low frequencies to the door speakers. Do you have stock speakers in the front doors?

yes i have pioneer 200watt round speakers in the front

And they get bass ok? Maybe the rear speakers are out of phase?

The factory amp for the door speakers sends a majority of the power to the front doors. I have the Pioneer 180w 6X8's and I have a similiar sound profile. I had the same speakers in my 95 ranger and it was the same, the door speakers had more base, and the rear speakers were just for fill. This is the reverse for most sedans. My wife's mazda 626's front door speakers sound terrible, and the rear deck speakers get all the power, put the sound gets lost in the trunk (she has the same speakers as me). This one of the reasons it is beneficial to bypass the factory amp if you have a good Head Unit.

ya my front speaks really dont get any bass but there round so i wouldnt think they would get any anyways....ill prolly end up replacing the front ones anyway just because there round and they dont fit right

What does being round have to do with bass? Subs are round. I don't think an oval speaker reproduces bass, and maybe sound altogether, as well as a round speaker. This is why you don't see high end speakers in ovals.

i had the same problem i have the pioneer 6x8 4 way @ 240w and they sound really good in front but weak in the back and i noticed it does it even more so when on my sony radio i use the dso (digital sound stage organizer) the back speakers get almost silent unless i fade it back to 30/70 then its even for power i got some type of stock amp harness but not sure its a bypass any help?

I think the harness you have uses the factory amp. The bypass harness requires removal of the rear passenger cargo panel. I would recommend bypassing the amp. I ran the stock amp in my 96 for a while, and was very pleased with the sound after I bypassed it.

so another words that if i dont bypass the factory amp majority of all the bass is gunna come from my subwoofer?

I'm guessing you have a stock Ford/JBL system. The reason why you're not getting any bass from your door speakers is that the built-in crossover at the main amp seperating the low frequencies to the sub and the rest to the door speakers. So I guess if you want bass from the door speakers, get an aftermarket HU.

well im guessing that "HU" stand for head unit, if it does, then the answer is...i already an new head unit its a kenwood...

Yeah. HU stands for headunit. Since you have installed an aftermarket HU, have you bypassed the stock amp? If not, bypass it. I haven't personally gone aftermarket yet since my stock system is still running strong and smooth but I have a friend did it in his old Explorer and after bypassing the stock amp, that thing sounded amazing. If you still want the sub to work, you can use your Kenwood's preamp outputs and use the stock subamp and convert it to RCA's and plug it in the back of the HU. I'm assuming this will work. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

no, i havent bypassed it, so i guessed thats my answer....but wat happens if i leave it all the same and use my preamp outputs to put in a system that should work fine right?

anyone know how much this bypass will run me ?

If you are handy with wire connectors, or solder, than the bypass will cost you only materials. If you want to buy a pre made harness I believe they are under $20.
