I accidently spilled a quart of oil on my engine and didnt want to make a mess in the garage so I sprayed the engine down with engine degreaser and washed it down and now my belt tensioner is squealing like crazy. . ive sprayed WD40 .. . white litium grease. . carb cleaner. . silicone . . everything i could find to make it stop. . it stops for a little while but after about 30 min its back. . .i noticed last night that the tensioner is jumping a little until i spray some WD40 on it and it smooths right out. . .cant belive that water would ruin the tensioner??? or do you think its my belt needing to be replaced that is making it jump around like that????
