Grinding Sound When Starting

I have a 1992 Explorer with a recently rebuilt starter (within the last year). Just in the last couple of weeks I have noticed a grinding sound when I go to start my X. It doesn't always do it, but it does it enough to make me worry. Please help if you can. Thanks.

It may be a one or two teeth that broke on the starter or got worn...I always get my starters from salvage yards....I would just try a new starter if I doesnt solve it you can always bring it back.

I hope your right...one of the guys at work suggested that it may be the flywheel. If it was the starter I guess it could act up at different times? Thanks.

What has gotten loose?....the starter? Im going to give it a good run through tomorrow...hopefully its just the starter...thanks for the help....keep it comin!

yea that hapnded to me the bolts that hold the starter to the tranny came loose so it was at a angle so it made a sound so check that
