OK, my front end makes a groaning noise in reverse and only if i turn the wheel or use the brakes (such as when backing out of a parking spot). It doesn't do it when moving forwards. Any clues as to what is causing this? Makes no sense to me that it only does it in reverse. I'm sure its something TTB related, just not a clue where to start.

Hey man, had a similar noise in 4x4 though, for me it was the forn end u joints, all of em were bad and destroyed. I lost all of the needle bearing in the cups due to rust and corrosion, i dont know your year but i know it would've been avery costly repair, luckly i know the aamco guys.

Hey man i noticed you ahd a 94', you might wana check your radial arm bushings and bracket, even the u joints. You could also ensure you have proper levels of fluid in the front diff.

Hope that helps, let mew knoe a little more detaila nd i'll see hwta i can come up with.

Yes I had a simular problem with my 93 explorer we replaced the radial arm bushings and it went away. Hope you figure out what is going wrong.
