Hey guys after waking up under the hood because the struts gave up on me i noticed a ground from the hood to frame was cut. Is that wire important or can it just left alone?

Yes, its for the hood light. There should be a clip at the end.

It can be left alone the hood does not exactly need to be grounded. But imo ford put that strap there and so should you!

Holy s*** all these years not knowing why that light never worked. Ill be damned. In my defense the wire is really well hidden

Hi walked the JY looking for that ground strap because of easy access to remove. Only found one. Most explorer and ranger did not have them. Check your ground strap under each front doors. (body too frame).
