I was considering those too since the part # was the same as you quoted in another thread. But the seller said they wouldnt fit, just as RTStork said..... ahh too bad.
The only headers for the Explorer V8 are the Ford Racing Performance Parts headers specific to the Explorer V8. They only make the ones listed for the 1996, but you can get them to work on a later truck by welding on an EGR fitting to the passenger side header.
I have them on the 1997 Explorer engine (with GT40P heads) in my 1999 Ranger. They fit perfectly and flow better than stock, however, there is still much room for improvement here.
I think they did offer them at one time, but now they only offer the ones with out. They are listed as for 1996 only, but they fit my GT40P heads without issue and I only had to weld on the fitting.
Yes, I installed the headers myself. While I also custom made the entire exhaust system myself, the header portion of the project was basically a bolt on. If you have an issue with the welding portion, fit the RHS header up, mark the location for the fitting and have a welding shop weld the fitting on, prior to doing the final installation of both sides.
