GWNF Fall Wheeling Trip

What size tires are most of you running?

Have you guys ever camped in November in that area of the state before? Up around here it can drop in to the 30's at night, good thing is that their will be very few bugs, but keeping warm could be a problem.

What hotels are around there? a place with a hot tub :D would be nice :D

The only way to warm up after a cold (wet) day of wheeling :D :D

Well, i've only got 31's. I live in WV, and it does get extremely cold but with a little cat heater, it will be no problem!!

Happy trails!!

IMHO, November and March are the best times to camp in VA. Yes, it does get cold at night. I highly recommend GOOD sleeping bag.

I love camping in the cold.

James Madison University (large college) is located in Harrisonburg, so there are plenty of hotels in that area. I've always stayed at the Econo Lodge right as you get onto R33 off I-81, cheap and clean. I'll be staying with my brother this time, he's a freshman at JMU so it's free. :)

I have 31" tires.

Can you arrange rooms for anyone else, that a co-ed dorm?

Sorry, won't be able to get anyone else into the dorm. Not really big enough, plus I'm not even sure if he's allowed to have overnight visitors or not so I might have to sneak myself in.

I'm running 31's now, but should have 35's before the trip.

Are you cutting your wheel wells to fit the 35's?

have a 3" body now, and I am putting on a 6" sus lift. Protrucks down here is doing my lift since they sponsor my truck club. Owner said that he did one other x like mine and everything fit fine.

You won't have to sneak yourself in, you are allowed to crash his room. Its a quick drive from campus out to GWNF too, so you are making a smart choice by staying here. By the way, what residence hall is he in? I am in Blue Ridge up on the ISAT campus.

there is a pro trucks up here... i really dont like em... expensive as piss...

Not sure, but I'll try to remember to ask him next time I talk to him.

Hey where's the protrucks at in Va beach? I've only lived here for two years and I haven't found anywhere I like yet to work on my truck. Hi dust certainly gets none of my business, that guy has been a jerk to too many people I know.

Does anyone know if there is a good spot to park my other truck and trailer up there? The Explorer is gona get the luxury of a trailer but I need to know if there is a spot to park and leave it while we are on the trails. Also I believe I am going to stop by Tech after we wheel on sat to see a couple of friends so anyone that wants to join, your more than welcome.

Chris

Not sure about the trailer parking, but here is a map of where we will be camping, unless someone finds something closer. It is 17 miles and it will take about 35 minutes to get there. Micheal do you happen to know the name of the camp ground there?

Happy trails!!

Protrucks is on Indian River Rd past military highway a bit. The owner there is a lot better than the guy at high dust.

The one down is a little pricey on some stuff, but you can't beat there work. I would rather pay the little extra money and not have to worry if the stuff is going to fall apart.

Kirk at Protrucks said it would be a Skyjacker, but he also said that I could go with Skyjacker or superlift either one.
