Had an engine swap, now i have some questions

I have a 95 ford explorer xlt 6cyl 4.0 liter, my engine had gone and i took it to a place to have a diff engine put in (i ran the vin and it says its from a 94 ford ranger, same thing though 6 cyl 4.0 liter) , now im looking to do a air intake and such and im wondering if i should look up the parts by the year that my engine originally was or if i should look up the parts by the year of the different engine. you guys have been great in the past keep up the good work thanx -anthony-

You might want to give us a "hint" of the year of the replacement engine...
