Today I got in the car and it was indexing my USB drive (it had already indexed it the previous time I was in there but it was doing it again)

As soon as I got in the car I had hit the voice button and told it to call my wife. And I was also hitting the button for cooled driver's seat.

Well at that time it just slowed to a crawl and would have a 3-4 second lag...so much I must have hit the seat button 15 times. And the call wouldn't go through. I tried again and it connected but I didn't hear anyone. I looked at the phone and there was no call, even though the car said connected. It wouldn't let me hang up either. I turned off bluetooth on my phone then back on and the call dropped. At that point it would not connect back to my phone even though I toggled bluetooth several times. I ended up deleting the phone and repairing, then it finally worked again.

Sounds about right. When you ask MFT to do too many things at once, it loses its mind.

And it will reindex every time. And it will buffer commands (like hitting the seat button 15 times).

So I tried it again today...while it was indexing I went and changed some of the climate controls and had no problems. But I didn't try to use the phone at the same time either...so that may have been the culprit.

One thing about MFT, when you think you have it figured out... you don't.

Hey, phareous!

Doing too many things at one time on any computer will slow it down. I suggest taking your time and letting your MFT boot up before giving it too many commands.

Hi Rebecca,
I posted this on another thread.... why won't it remember the playlist when I turn off the car and restart the car? it always defaults to playing the first song on the disc... not the playlist I was playing. The only time it remembers it is if I am in the same session (Haven't turned car off) and am switching between inputs (Sirius, FM, etc.). Is this a bug? Can you put it in your bug tracking system? Thanks

Apparently Ford is using an inferior "computer" then, to control MFT.
There is NOTHING that MFT does that even doing multiple things simultaneously should bog it down... unless Ford just went with the cheapest, "OLD", outdated components and the lowest bidder for the OS.
There's no reason a Forty Thousand Dollar car shouldn't have a leading edge CPU controlling it's technology.

I LIKE MFT... I like having high-tech gadgets in my cars in general... but if your answer is the official Ford line about MFT, then they truly didn't engineer it properly!

It can do multiple things at once, just let it finish booting. Even the best and fastest computers run like crap while everything is loading.

If you want an MFT version that works, download it from the apple app store......

The MFT IPAD APP works with trying to input multiple commands at the same time.....Ive sat there for 5 minutes rapidly pushing everything I could and never once did the IPAD app reboot :)

Easy.......no one here wants to hear the truth about Apple products.

Give it a couple posts and we will be told to have another glass of KoolAid

It is funny to use the MFT App on the iPad and it works flawlessly.

I will give the engineers at apple a little bit of credit, they stopped drinking their own KoolAid long enough to add the MAP Bluetooth profile. Now, here is to hoping for full phonebook access with callerID and photos in iOS6! I know they can do it!! (crossing my fingers)
