2013 interceptor utility
I have a 2013 interceptor utility that feels like transmission is in neutral and revs under very hard braking. Then re engages. Any help where I could possibly start looking ?

Check the fluid level, low fluid can cause issues like this.

It should have a screw off cap that has a dipstick under it, its on top of the plastic pan that faces towards the front of the vehicle.

Needs to be checked running in park on level ground at operating temperature, dont overfill it.

Had fluid changed flushed. Still same issue . What could this be

Fluid was flushed and appeared good. Vehicle shifts normal throughout and this issues happens on very hard sudden stop. After the hard stop vehicle revs and feels like it’s in neutral for a few seconds before re engaging

Either its falling out of gear due to the pump picking up air because the fluid has moved away from the filter inlet during the hard braking or the computer cannot react fast enough to downshift the transmission before your back on the gas.

If you can select manual low you could try a hard stop without letting to transmission upshift and if it falls out of gear that would suggest the computer/control is good and we should be looking at why the pump pressure could be dropping pressure.

A pressure gauge can tell you if the transmission is losing pump prime.

Can a transmission shop scan for these possible issues without having to tear it apart ?

Getting the trouble codes can help identify where the problem is and what kind of repair is needed.

Did the shop that did the flush have any feedback on the transmission and what they thought it might be?

Gonna take it back Monday While they don’t specialize in transmissions they did say they will check for any codes

Still looking for any other help in this one.
