i know it's not going to hurt them, i just hate to do it!!:D

I'm not giving up though, :banghead: dad has a good friend from work down there, i might be able to drop that AT's off there! haha, this is sad!

Oh, i have some good news, well good news for me anyways. I talked mom into getting me a locker for christmas, so i'm going to order it next week and hopefully get it in, trying to find the best price for that still!

Happy trailes!

Cool up to 8!

Glad to see a few signing on-

Josh,

Seems like a lot of work to carry the MTs with you, I would mount them at home and run them if your going to run the MTs . Remember this is a one day affair. Im leading and I run AT's, and AT's should have no problems running these trails, espically if you get your locker. I would rather run ATs on moderate snow anyway, and if its cold enough the snow (IF we get any- everyone pray or wish or do what ever your beliefs require :D ) will be not too deep (the trails are used fairly frequently so it will most likely be packed on the trail). Ats do better in moderate snow conditions like these anyway IMO. But hey... who knows maybe it will BE snowing an inch an hour while we are on the trail and then the MTs would rock- if that happens Ill be using my chains! Who-HOO :D look out

Just some thoughts

I know that i don't really need the MT's but i have them for this reason! Plus i just want to take them, i don't know why! It's just cool, alright! haha:D

I might try to go with you guys since it's not too far away from me. My X is stock mainly, but I have AWD and limited slip. I've been wanting to go wheelin sometime. I just don't want to get anything dented up. What do you think, should I give it a shot?

I think you'd be fine. Just take your time and ask for spotting help anytime you think you might need it. Plus, you don't have to do something if you're uncomfortable.

Count me in as interested!

I'm running on 265's w/ the TT.

I'm hoping to have a CB in my X and tow hooks on by the 19th, among other things. Hope to!:D

Sounds like it will be a fun run and I'm probably 95% on going.:bounce:

I'll keep following this and keep you posted!

I think everyone should give it a shot!!, like John said no one has to do anything they are uncomfortable with, and spotting is always available in the more difficult spots.

Glad to see the interest from everyone, Ill post some more trip details towards the end of next week.

You know I'm in.
Plus Passengers: Suz, and 2 friends

Specs: Stock 87 BII with 31's

BTW: The rrorc crowd haven't showed much interest, but who knows. I think two people are in for right now.

I'll keep ya'll posted about rrorc people.

Brian, mind if we caravan again? The drive is not so boring with someone else to talk to on the CB. (when the girls aren't hogging it) :)

Ditto here; if somebody starting in or driving through Richmond wants to team up, let me know :)

I'm gonna keep an eye on this. As the time gets closer, I might be able to make it, depending upon my schedule.

Put me into this group too. :D

Leebo,
Is that a joke? Or are you moving the Muddy side of the US? :D

John,
I'm might be up here at Radford then, but i can meet you in Roanoke. But the BII is not able to move at "high speed" :banghead: So the ride might be boring.
Plus no sway bars:roll: :D

Let me ask this of you guys, first. You said it's a one day event? Anybody up for a Sunday run too. Are there any other trails in the area that are open for some fun?

Second, what are the hotels like in the area? There's no way I can pull this off without a hotel. A best western or what-not will work justttt fine.

Last, Anybody got pics? Kinda want to know what I'm getting into. :D

BTW.... just added this event to the Explorer Calander. So let's show that more than a few people on the east can wheel. :D

leebo,

Your 1. question: There was a discussion about a 2 day event later in the year because people have been thinking about camping. But I'm sure more than one person would "volunteer" to stay 2 days. Adding to this, having one evening for talking and :chug: would be nice.

Your 2. question: GWNF is 20 min. off I-81, and there are tons of motels in all price ranges in that region.

Your last question: I know that Brian (RU MAN) has pics of the February event. I hope he does not mind me posting here a link to his album: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1524033&a=11532223

Hey Lee

its an awfully long way to come to run some trails. Are you going to be here on business? Like Michael said we talked about doing a two day event in the spring when the conditions for camping and wheeling are better. I cant do two days in Jan because of commitments on Sunday.
But come april/may if the interest is there we can do a couple of days. I need to find some more suitable trails in the area. For a two or three day event We can travel north and south of Harrisonburg to some other public land trails. The Jeep Jamboree uses some of the trails Im thinking of , and they spread out over a weekend. All are doable with a stock to mildly modded vehicle. Unfortunatly(sp?) the Forest service here isnt as friendly to Fourwheelers as they could be and some of the more challenging trails have been closed or graded.
In the east the better wheeling is on private land, if you want the best on the east, a trip to Paragon is in order- a pay to play park. Or an event on private land like Big Dogs in Gore VA. in the summer and fall- Im going to try and go this summer- anyone with an Explorer been or want to go?

Anyone with an Expl...  :D :p

An other place that might me worth a thought is Gerald's new front yard, Tellico :D

Well looks like the rrorc wants to do it the 2nd weekend of Jan.
But if it comes down to it, I'll end up going with ya'll. But I'm plainin on going both weekends for right now.
