Okay, this isn't the greatest of challenges, but what kind of dome light switch is on the rear hatch of a '92? Mine hasn't worked from day one, and no one i've talked to can answer this.

Can't say that I've ever had the need to look but I have to "assume" that there is a mercury switch inside the hatch. If there's no evidence of a switch on the jamb, I'd look inside the hatch. Bear in mind, if this is the case, that it could also be a broken wire in the rubber tube.

Keep puttin' the wet stuff on the red stuff and stay safe...

On my 92I believe it is connected to the drivers side latch on the hatch. At drive ins or watching fireworks the light would always be on, with my fingers I would close the two latch hooks together and the light goes out, just remeber to open them before shutting the hatch!!! The two fingers are on the driver side of the hatch and grab the post on the rear pillar when shut, i think the switch is part of the latch or maybe behind it. I never had a problem with mine I just wanted to be able to turn it of when the hatch was open for extened periods. I do not believe my glass turns on the light just the hatch opening
