Well I just found this site today looking up information on an Idea I have heard of about adding Resistors to increase fuel economy and perfomance I believe in the place of the intake air sensor? I personally drive an '93 F250 Turbo Deisel and have alot of fun tweaking that rig. Now I have decided to have my way with my wifes car. This should be fun I see there is a ton of info on this site. If you are familiar with this mod please let me know I am looking for tech info and photos. Thanks and see ya around the site!

RESIST the resistormod..its a "hack" way of doing things.

The O2 sensor is used to determine air-fuel ratio so any changes in the air volume will be countered accordingly in the volume of fuel being injected - unlike in a diesel where unburnt fuel (soot) is allowed.

You could try a warm air intake which would reduce the oxygen density:
