anyone ever notice that all the holes are not punched out for the water passages ways?the first cyl looks right (in red)and matches the head but the other two do not(in blue)!why is that?should they be punched out?would it hurt,i think it would help cool.any ideas?:crazy:

dont necessarily go by the head for the water jacket locations.. the heads are the same left and right. go by the block itself (which is NOT the same). Also, the intake manifold only has water in the front (t-stat and crossover), so some of the passages in the head need to be blocked at the back of the head.
 






it blocks holes on the block too?
 






its possible.. while I have not seen the 4.0l's head gaskets, I would not be too surprised if there were some closed passages.

if possible, check another set (brand) of gaskets, its always possible that a bad set or batch got thru what little QC they go thru in manufacturing
