Headers or Apten Chip...that is the ?

I finally got the money so now im looking to either put in a apten chip or put in some headers. But i have no clue which one to do...i want to do what will give me more out of my money though. I was wondering if anyone knew which one would be better to do. And where the best place would be to get some headers...and the best headers to get? And also how much would i be looking at in the gains department with either mod. And how much louder will headers make my explorer if i already have KKM and flowmaster. Help me out guys!! Thanks alot

Go with the chip, I've heard the other 4.0 guys say you don't gain much and they're a disapointment. I might make it a little louder but you won't gain as much power as you will with the chip.

One thing to think about is that if you decide to get headers at a later time, the chip will give the most performance if it is calibrated for the headers. So it might be better to do headers first, and then get the chip.

I hear over and over that headers are overkill on an X. The chip is far from that.

chip without question, in our state, you install headers, you get no smog cert, no tag for your plate, is big trouble

K well i guess im gonna get rid of the headers idea...too much bad stuff bout em...what about a hi-flow cat? Im gonna get teh chip for sure now but i cna get the hi flow cat too. So how much is that gonna run me and is there a certain size i need and how much good does a hi-flow cat give you performace wise adn sound wise? Where can i get one i saw one on www.performancecombos.com for like 120? Thanks again guys

I'd get an Autosound (think that's what it is) off eBay, they're like $50. I heard that company is part of Magnaflow. You'd have to get it welded on which would probably cost more than the cat itself at rates these days.

Not sure. I wouldn't even get the hi-flow unless your cats are dead.
