The eyes are getting to the point that night driving needs a little more illumination. Read a bunch about blue bulbs and crossed them off. I will post the descriptions of available bulbs (9007's) and those who know please recommend. "All Weather"Safer driving in all conditions, yellow contrasting light improves visibility in bad( rain, snow, fog) weather. "Diamond White"- Brillant low glare pattern with "rainbow" reflections on the perimeter. "Xenon Blue" - special coated capsule with xenon gas that produces an intense white light that approaches HID systems. I don't care how they look (not into cool) but want to see what's out there. How about stepping up the wattage to 100/80, will the wires-housings put up with the heat? Thanks.

the sylvania silverstars should meet your needs. as far as using a higher wattage bulb i would not recommend it without upgrading the wiring. I learned the hard way. i had some 100/80 bulbs with my stock wiring and the wire and housings melted after 6 months.

I too recommend the Silverstars.

For the wiring harness, take a kook at Dead Link Removed

Silverstars and harness will do wonders!

However, if you can buck up some money. You can go to a True HID kit. They are Night and Day difference.

In the image shown below, Headlights are 8000k True High/Low HID's. The stock fog lights are yellow 9005 bulbs, and the middle lower lights are PIAA 980's Fog/Driving Lights w/ PIAA Bright White bulbs.

Look how much cleaner the HID's are than the PIAA's. And they are PIAA's Bright "White" Bulbs. They don't look to White to me. Not next to the HID's

But like stated above the SilverStars with a new harness will be a huge improvment over stock.

Good Luck and welcome to the site.

Wiring harness w/Silverstars.
Replace fog lights w/ Catz MSX clear fog.
There will be a big difference.
Also check out the condition of your headlamp housings. If yellowed &/or tarnished inside, replace them.

i am in the lighting business.

the best easlily accesible 9007 light [what you need] is the sylvania xtr-vision. pink and black box.

these are available from advance auto, autozone and most of the auto part stores.

you get an 'extra' 20% of light from a standard 55/60 bulb.

www.sylvania.com

a relay would definetly increase output.

do not go overwattage, eventually there will be a meltdown

From the Sylvania website "Silverstars are the whitest & brightest" lights.
Extra vision are 20% brighter than "standard" bulbs.
Now I suppose you can take that info to mean something different to all.
For my eyes, having tried both, the silverstars are superior. At 50+ yrs old I need all the light I can get. I dont see the light blue colors very well, as ageing reduces a persons ability to that area of the color spectrum, so some bulbs are almost invisiable on rain slicked pavement. The Sliverstars perform well in all conditions for me.

Where can I get the Xenon kit from ??? And how much will it set me back if you dont mind me asking ??? Thxs!

Thanks to all who have answered my call for assistance. The relay harness is on order from Suvlights, $53. The Silver Stars will be picked up at the parts store. Looking at the picture of the harness in another thread, it shows a "chassis ground" connection of some sort. I am leary of an open connection, kinda ruins the whole concept if it cruds up. What have users done with this connection? How about tying the 2 together and with heavy wire, running them back to the negative side of the battery or to the first point the chassis is connnected to the battery?
Nice picture Black Magic, I've seen 747's landing at the airport that didn't have that much light up front! Thanks again.

I grounded the drivers side directly to the battery and the passenger side to the radiator support.

Sylvania also makes a Xenarc HID auxilliary kit that acts as another low beam. The system has a remote so you don't need any extra wiring into the cab and you don't have to remove you fog lights. The system is $300 but the light output is fantastic. It took me two hours to hook up and that was mainly to find the location for the ballasts. I have the silverstar headlights which are great but combined with the new HID light I can see so much more. With the remote, it means you cna have them on with both low and high beams as well.

maybe i should have added the xtra-vision is less expensive and they are not as short lived as the silverstars.

don't get me wrong i've had/have silverstars and like them.
their life is shorter because of the blue coating on bulb.

be careful of suv lights, they are VERY slow to ship and don't respond well to e-mails
