2005 Explorer Sport Trac
Hello all... I just recently purchased a used 2005 Sport Trac XLT. The trucks owners where an older couple, and had something done to the headlamp control, so I wanted to find out what others might think of this. When I start the truck, all of the lights come on (headlamps, and parking lights). All of the lights are showing to be off on the headlamp control panel. I have turned the dial back and forth a few times, and nothing is happening to turn off the lights. Has anyone ever seen this before? If you have, how do I go about getting the lights to turn on and off via the headlamp control panel, like they are supposed to? Thanks for any info.

sounds like they have adapted the wiring to run day time running lights but also the headlights. Youd have to find the wiring they changed and wire it back to normal.

It was also possible to get a Daytime Running Light (DRL) module installed by a dealer. I asked when I got my old '05, the cost was around $350 for the module plus installation, so that was the end of that.
