I installed new headlights in my 96 Explorer that I got on E-Bay. the single piece euro style. They look good but the low beam is very dim. there was no connector on the lights so I put flat spade type connectors and plugged them into the harness connector. I assumed the black was ground. I know the wiring for the harness but not for the lights. I just plugged the wires in until low was low and hi was hi. but the Low beam is very dim. it is like half the normal brightness. could that be the bulb ? or is something wrong with the car wiring ? the old lights worked great, just wanted a change. is it possible that the bulbs are not compatible with the lamp out module or something. any help would be great .

Post a pic, or a link to the auction, of the headlights. Is the reflector area inside the headlight black by chance?
