headlights almost always on

im new to the explorer community and this just doesnt seem right.
first off i have a 97 explorer xlt. my headlights come on automatically with out me turning them on.. but only at night time...... it has actually been pretty convenient but also my fog lights dont come on at all. any ideas about this please let me know or just tell me if im being a dumbass and that is how they are supposed to be

Have you played with the delay slider switch on the bottom of the mirror? That is what controls how long your head lights stay on after you turn the vehicle off.

Your fog lights won't come on without your headlight swith being turned on AND your fog light switch being turned on. If that doesn't turn them on, check fuses and bulbs.
