headlights work, parking lights not working?

A couple of weeks ago, my parking lights and dash lights quit working while driving in the dark. The headlights remained on. Worked OK for the next few days and did it again. This time I pushed on the switch for the headlights in just enough to make the parking lights come on. Changed out headlight switch but I still have the problem. Any info would be appreciated.

So you replaced the dimmer switch? To get my dash lights to go on I have to turn the knob all the way to the left just before the click. I replaced the dimmer switch and the same thing happened.

Yes, I replaced the headlight switch. I tried turning the knob to the left just short of turning the dome light on. When I pull on the switch (half way out), my parking lights should come on, but don't. When I pull it all the way out, the headlights come on - nothing else. If I push the knob back in, just short of shutting off the headlights, all of my lights work. Keep in mind that all of my dashboard lights are behaving the same way as my parking lights.
