My mountaineer is stuck on max ac and I can't change the temperature at all if I put the temperature higher, it still blows 60 but not as hard. I checked the fuses and the relay for it and everything looked/worked good there. I checked the door actuator behind the glove box I swapped in a new one and it didn't move so I put the old one in and it didn't move either. I can move the door with my fingers and it goes over to heat so the heater core is working fine. I checked the vacuum line for the door and it appeared to be fine. The only think I could think it would be is the control panel itself. I wanted to see if I'm missing anything or if I should try something different or what. I have the electronic control for the ac/heat. Thanks for any help

sounds like it may be your EATC unit. it electronically controls where the vacuum goes using small solenoids. you can get your's repaired for around $100 (Google Ford EATC repair) or buy a used one one ebay, which run about the same price.

Thanks man I'll give it a try and give an update if it works or not

This looks like a potential cheap, DIY repair providing it's only dirty or has worn o-rings instead of a burnt out solenoid coil.

You should be able to use a multimeter on resistance mode to see if any coils are blown (open circuit or wrong resistance range) and verify no internal springs are broken before proceeding to buy o-rings and silicone grease.

there is a test procedure for the EATC (press and hold certain buttons for so many seconds to get a code displayed). it's never helped me, but you can Google how to do that too.

Thanks for the help everyone I got my new eatc unit in today and turns out it was both the door actuator and the eatc unit. I got everything swapped out and it works now
