Hi,

When I turn the control to "heat" on my '97 XLT the air coming out is not warm at all. It is still blowing out at the desired level but is not warm. Should I take my car to a place like Tires Plus to have 'em check it out?

Any thoughts?

I'll throw a heater valve that is not opening (simple as a cracked vacuum line) or clogged heater core.

Tires plus ? How about a reputable independent mechanic, when you have another problem he will remember you and that is a good relationship to have. Unless you can fix your own car with help from this forum ?

Just went through this myself... does your AC work? If it's not super cold and you can tell whether the AC works or not... you might try that as well. If AC doesn't appear to be working either, I'm going to say blend door. A shop will quote $1,000+ if it's blend door... or could be actuator (much easier).. I was quoted $1,200+ for blend door. I fixed it myself with $10.99 + tax...
