Heated seats automatically turn on

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the forum and new to my vehicle, a 2004 Explorer Sport Trac XLT. I've owned the truck for 5 days and love it, although, like any used vehicle there are a few things I need to work on.

My question today is this: Most of the time when getting into the vehicle and starting it, I find that the button for the heated seat is somehow being activated, even though I know I am not manually pushing this. Could this be a switch malfunction? While I appreciate warm seats, that comfort is not always needed or wanted every time I get in my truck.

If you are able to push the button and turn it off, then likely you are experiencing the same thing that happened to me when we first got our 2003. The button is extremely easy to mistakenly press with the underside of your left leg as you are getting into your seat. I must have done it 20 different times before I finally figured out what was going on...
