Hi everyone. Just picked up a 1998 5.0L on a pretty nice deal, so time to join the forums I guess. It looks like there is a lot of great info here and i cant wait to learn about this platform. One thing I was looking for a quick answer for is about the engine. My dad has a complete(disassembled) engine from his 94 Mustang GT, now a 383 stroker. Are any of the parts interchangeable between the mustang and explorer, in case something needs to be replaced?

The 383 stroker is built on the 351w block, so no. The mustang parts will not work without extensive fabrication.

although I would like to see it made to work. You'll need to modify the cross member, fabricate your own motor mounts and oil pan, and create your own exhaust headers, just to consider it. Get dad to help, it'll be the first one!
