Hello all, I am the proud owner of a 89 ford ranger xlt, this truck runs great and the only problem is that I need a gas tank for it. It is a V6, 2.9 L has a long bed. Part of the problem is that when I look up the VIN to get an accurate tank
replacement it only has a 16 character VIN and not a 17 character VIN. I really
don't want to go to the FORD company and spend 500 dollars for a new tank. I've been to salvage yards and no luck. The tank has a small rupture and is of some sort of plastic. The numbers on the tank are E97A-9002-HA and some other set of numbers are 442G-859-2. I found a tin tank online at QUANTA.com ( I think), instead of 859.... it says 900. "If possible I would like to know if I could swap it for
some other tank or where I can get a replacement." Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated.
