CEP1 HERE--(Cleveland Engine Plant 1) retired
1996 Explorer-recently purchased and trying to improve on it's condition.
thanks for having me here !
I own a 1996 Ford explorer XLT-4.0L 4 x4
Question (if anyone can answer this one it's the 64 dollar question of the year)
I am having trouble getting my keyless entry pad (located on the door under the handle) to light up. It works fine and I can even re-program the codes ok..It just will NOT light up when it's suppose to..I recently came across another pad on ebay.....(part # YL3Z-14A626-AA) which belongs to some other ford vehicle (possibly a van or Lincoln) and I 'm wondering if the wiring color codes are the same or if I can splice the new wiring into the old so I HAVE a lit entry pad....does anyone have wiring schematics for a 1996 explorer or the newer keypad entry...so I can cross reference the color of the wires?
Thanks Mike
