Howdy,

My names Joey, I've got a '96 Explorer sport, 2wd 5spd. I've had the car for about a year now, I bought it just so I'd be able to move my stuff to USC when i started college (I'm a sports car guy), but now I'm in love with it- Its just too damn comfortable on the highway. I've put about about 12,000 miles on it since I bought it last August. I moved to MO and started school at Mizzou in january.

I'm in southeastern VA visiting my family for a couple weeks, and I've been doing some maintainence. Just changed the clutch last week, planning on shocks and fluids this week, etc.

160k miles and running great. (Stupid o2 sensor code though  )

bout time I stopped lurking...

-Joey :salute:

I'm glad to be part of this site, seems to be so much fun.

Welcome Joey!

My Daughter, and son-in law both graduated from Mizzuo--they still live in Columbia. Beautiful city.
I'd like to go to the devil's icebox about now--It's good on a hot day.

Welcome.

Smart choice in Colleges :D

thanks everyone,

Just put some amsoil in the engine, mobil 1 in the trans and rearend. Its really cleaning up! Ordered some shocks from shockwarehouse.com (10% discount AND the monroe/rancho buy 3 get 1 free deal going on, good timing)

Still cant get rid of my code P0420 though, I'm gonna try swapping the sensors and see if i get a P0430, which should point to a bad sensor. If that doesnt fix it, I'm stumped... maybe plugs/wires? they look good. Fuel filter or regulator maybe? The cat seems fine, and no exhaust leaks... I'm stumped.

gotta get ready for my 1200 mile trip back to Mizzou from Norfolk. Wish me luck! I'd let you all know how the fluids did with the MPG.. but my odometer just died... not sure how to fix that one either.
