Well for the rear, you could just do an SOA in the rear, and I think for the front, Superlift makes a suspension lift for Sports, but I am not sure what height though. They make a 4", but I am not sure if they make a 5.5". You could even look into doing a body lift with a 4" suspension, then you could clear 33s. But do not quote me on any of this, I own a 94 4 door, so Sports are not my thing. All of what I just told you is what I have read on here, this wonderful message board!!

By the way, welcome to the family!, and someone much more knowledgable than I will be with you shortly.......:D

Welcome!! I don't know too much about newer model suspensions, I also have a first generation X. But I wanted to say hi anyway.

I'm assuming it's 4x4?
TrailMaster and SuperLift are the only companies that have suspension lifts for the IFS. They are both 4" I believe, with SuperLift being the better of the 2.
You would most likely still need a body lift to clear 33s, but not positive.

If you have a 2wd, I'd do a TT and spindle lift in front and SOA in rear. If you have a 4x4, 2" TT and shackle lift (maybe with addaleaf and 4 door spring conversion) and a 3" body lift.

Lots of info on this site on all these lift options, you'll find all the info you ever need to know if you hunt around the site for a few days.

Good luck!

Hey guys i've been looking around and i'm having trouble finding a way to lift my sport mildly. I'm looking for 2-4 inches and i want to run 31-33 inch bfg at ta/ko's so let me know what you think.

wilson:

coil spacers or new coils in the front and addaleaf and/or 4 door leaf swap and/or shackles in the rear.

Please search around a bit, you have many options that are already discussed heavily on the boards.

I talked to a guy @ 4wheel parts wholesale and he said i couldn't do coil spacers, From what i've seen in the fourums i could- i'm confused? I know the rear will be easy since it is a leaf setup but i'm worried about the front mostly, who should i talk to about buying these spacers.

You have coils for your front springs. Yes you can do spacers. Anything over 2" and you may not/will not get the front end aligned.

The cheapest front spacer is to install Ford F-150 spring seats (1 5/8" of lift).

Is the spacer like a cup that the spring seats into or is this something that goes between the coils? concerning the alignment, are you talking about if i go over 2 total or 2 inches w/a spacer? I need to do a front end tune up so i planned on installing the spacer along w/new balljoints and bushings before i install the new tires/wheels then i will have the alignment done, i'll do the add a leaf @ the same time too-i just need to start collecting all the parts and hope for good weather. How much will the shackle and aal lift? where can i get the spacer for the front other than the one for the 150?

Try searching around a bit. For the least amount of $$ torsion twist and shackles or add a leaf and a 3" body lift will get you to fit 33s on a 4x4. you will still have some rubbing and need to do some trimming inside the fenders. other option is the Superlift 4" kit for second gen Xs. You can combine it with an SOA in the rear taking out a couple of those spacer blocks from under the mono leafe and 1" TT up front. However this is if you are doing the install or have someone that will do custom work. For totally off the shelf install at 4 wheel parts or similar store you can just do the 4" superlift. Then you could stick a 2" BL under it and have no problem with 33s. For info on the superlift install follow the link in my sig.

The best way I can describe the spring seat, is to think of it as a spacer..

It goes "under" the spring and the spring hold down bolt goes up through a hole in the center of the seat. You just bolt the spring on like you did before, except you have a piece of metal under the spring.

The frond coil spring seat (spacer) is < $50.. tory (I believe I spelled that right) @ ford parts network should be able to get you the best price. Otherwise, just go to your local ford dealer to get it.

the spring seat is for a late 80's (I believe) f-150 2wd pickup.

hey, lets get this back on topic, This is for the 98 suspension, not a discussion for 91-94 spring seats, like alec said, do a search and you will find all you need.

Going back to the orignal question, Look up Gage on this forum he has a 98 sport and he runs 35's, He is currently selling his Trailmaster 4 inch lift so he can go solid.
