Just make sure you push your "U tools" outward and jiggle the stereo back and forth. It may be getting hung up on the rail that your stereo slides in on.

I took out my radio still attached to the bezel it made it easier to see what was going on.

ya ive tried to pull the bezel out some and it stops at a certain point. ive also tried to jiggle it around when it reaches that point where it stops. aggrivatin as heck lol. ill give it another go tho. may end up just spendin the $50 its goin to cost and have it removed and have them install my aftermarket deck.

no my bezel does not look like that. that looks like a newer year. mines a 2000 explorer. id get a pick up here but i dont know how to. new to the forums. my heat and a/c stuff is a diff pannel under my stock radio. ive tired pretty hard to pull the bezel off and out more but i feel that if i use anymore force i will break it and i dont wanna do that.

repostin from my last one. the vents for my heat on the bezel are above my radio. was lookin over everythin i typed last nite and made the mistake of sayin everything was under my deck.

pull the two bolts out of the benzel and take the benzel radio and all out of the dash. Then use the tool to take the stereo out so you can see if it is getting hung up at all

yes donner that is the bezel that i have. looks like if anything its gettin caught on that black track there. ill have to work on it again and see if i can get it to work. thx for the link that really helped show better of whats goin on.

Alright! Good pics Spabula! Implmnts, it's probably just caught up like you said... You got one of those miner type flashlights? They really help so you can have your hands free... I got one from Lowes for like $5... good luck!

well i found out what my problem is. if you click on the link that is posted up by donner youll see in one of the pics a black thing that the deck slides on. well there is a hose clamp that is around mine (used a flashlight and looked in) and when i try to slide the deck out the white thing on the back of the deck gets caught up on it. my guess is that the dealership that i got the explorer from put it there. any suggestions on how to get in there and get the clamp undone?
