Hello All,

Been reading up a lot on here on the proper ways to set up auxiliary lights and I think I'm about ready to dive into this. I'm looking to mount two lights on the front of my roof rack. I got the mounts, lights, some wire, some couplings, and a switch (basically what came in the box). But after reading up I think I still have some extra items to pick up, we'll see.

I've found a lot of great information however, what I haven't found is the answer to the age old question, "to drill or not to drill"....when running wires to the roof that is.

If there is already a thread on this discussion please forward. If not, I would really appreciate your input on drilling a hole through the roof and more importantly how to prevent leaks, or what the best/how others have done it without drilling.

Thanks for looking!

Welp, I found the posts you were looking for by using the search feature, and typing 'Roof lights drill'

4 threads, and much of the best information is found within the first 4-5 posts of each one.

Thread 1

thread 2

thread 3

thread 4

Have fun! Learn to search, though, and you'll be able to have most all the information at your fingertips, without having to wait on someone to do work for you ;)

Also, don't just run power off your switches. Use relays and heavy gauge wiring. Another bit of advice that will come up frequently as you read through other people's threads.

Roger that on the relays and fuses. Appreciate the assistance.
