Help . Camshaft Sensor - Omfg ( Pics )

yea, i didnt use the alignment tool. its running like it did.

needed my car and i couldnt wait anymore

So I just finished my sync replacement on 97 mountaineer 5.0. I thought I would start with the sensor only. Bought at AZ, got home and opened it up, not to bad but it's 5.5mm socket, pieces everywhere. The target was gone the "tag" was damaged. Called AZ and the only sync was 25 miles so I asked them to hold it, it was the Cardone reman with the sensor. I was going to attempt pulling it through the coil pack bracket but decided to just open her up to make it easier. Took a bit to get the old one out with large channel locks and elbow grease. Put the new in with the alignment tool and locked it down and got everything back together. I did use majic marker to number which plug wire went where (don't trust the memory much anymore). Fired up and runs well. Need to see how mileage is now. Took me about 2 hours.

Are you sure that wasn't the Dorman sensor?

It was the Cardone, I looked at both. Roll pins were thicker, just surprised that it came with sensor. I also soaked in oil for about an hour or so. Mileage seems better as I used to be able to watch the gauge move while on the highway.
