Use a screwdriver to remove the screws, I think you need a security T20 screwdriver

Its in a round plastic cylinder thats about 8" long and 5" wide it seems the maf housing slides into this cylinder and there are no screws.

o kso where is it I may be looking in the wrong place?

It is right after the air filter. I usually slip a thin screwdriver or something in the holes and it releases the tabs so the assembly slides out. You can get a bit of slack on the wires by adjusting them from the grommet. Then carefully disconnect the actual internal MAF core.

Mark the orientation of the assembly on the unit and body with tape or a sharpie before it comes out- it will save you some time trying to figure out how it goes back.

You need security torx bits to remove the actual MAF from its housing. Be very careful with the MAF unit, lift it straight up and do not touch the delicate wires. Use only CRC MAF cleaner to clean it, a second is electronic parts spray (but MAF cleaner is better) anything else is very risky.
