Hello, I am quite new to car audio, and wanted to ask a few questions. I plan to get a Alpine 15" sub. Now, I will need to get an amp as well. Can someone explain to me a few things.

1. What are amp channels, and what do they do?

2. How many are necessary? I want to power my whole system.

3. Do I need an amp with more watts than my sub?

Thanks

Welcome to the site!! Amp channels are how many speakers the amp will run. Although there is many ways to wire an amp. Normally you want an amp to run subs and and amp to run your door speakers, if you want an amp to run the door speakers. You want your amp to match the subs rms power rating. A little more wont hurt as you can turn the amps gain down.

do u already have the alpine 15?? or are u getting it soon? if so have u thought long and hard about running a 15?? space concerns and such

The Alpine is a good choice if you get it. Im going to get the same..
