Hi, I have a problem, I recently disabled "Double Honk" on my 2016 Explorer and it worked but now when I get out of my vehicle with the Smart Key FOB on me the doors would not lock themselves anymore like they used to. I tried restoring the BCM (As Built) but the issue continues. Can someone help me ?

Welcome to the Forum.
When you say "the doors would not lock themselves anymore" are you talking about touching the black part of the door handle to lock them or using the keyfob?

oh no, what I mean is that on my 2016 Explorer Sport which has the Start Button to turn on the engine, if you get out of the vehicle while the engine is still running then two things happen,

1: You hear a double honk
2: All doors get locked

Ever since I disabled the "double honk" now the doors wont lock when I get out of the vehicle while the engine is still running. And I restored the BCM but that did not fix it.

My doors do not lock with the double honk goes on and I close the doors as far as I can remember.

I'll give it a shot and see.

I've never heard of the doors locking that way. It doesn't really even make sense. Why would the doors lock when the vehicle has sensed that the engine is running? I've had the double honk a few times when I still had the 2017 Platinum. At no time did the doors lock, nor should they.

So it seems but you'll notice he said he thinks the doors locked before. As I mentioned, at no time did that happen with my 2017. It just double honked. Even my Aviator just sounds a beep in that situation. Doors don't lock. It doesn't make sense to me anyway, why they should.
There are many posts here about the double honk feature and none of them mentioned doors locking.

It actually make sense if you think about it, you get out of the vehicle, engine on and the doors auto lock in case anyone can get in and just take off. And like I said, it double honked and the doors closed. I already called the dealer and they are going to do a reflash. This feature is so important to me that I rather have that double honk restored again if it means locking the doors when ever I leave the engine on and I exit. I have a 2016 Explorer Sport with the 401A Package, I do not know if that even makes a difference. Lol

Actually I had thought of that scenario but like I said, I got out many times with the engine running just to pick up mail from the roadside box and doors never locked and no one has ever mentioned it here before.
