So I was installing new speakers in my 2000 ford explorer (with the kenwood 6 cd changer) and we decided why not hook up my head unit from my old car.

I had the wiring harness and everything so we started. Unplugged the stock radio etc, crimped everything with the twist crimps and tried to turn it on and nothing. So we plugged back in the stock head unit...nothing.

Does anyone know why either of my head units aren't getting power. Everything worked before we did this...

Check the fuse to the headunit. On my 98, it is in the fuse box inside the car (your owner's manuel will say which number).

Similar thing happened to me while hooking up my neons. I cut both the + and the - at the same time and power jumped from the + to the - through the wire cutters. This tripped the fuse :thumbdwn: \
