Ok, so I installed (partway) my guages last night. THe directions told me to take the needles off, so i did. Bad mistake. Now most (im not sure if my speedometer or tachometer are correct or not quite yet). So now I'm kinda in a panic beacuse some of my guages are pointed in some wierd directions. So please HELP! How do i get them back to normal? I figure leave the panel off and go to the gas station and fill her up for the gas one, but how about the others?

please help!

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO JUST POINT THE SPEEDO AND TACH TO 0 WHEN THEY ARE OUT OF THE TRUCK.

It is not easy to get them set back. You need to take the clear Plastic cover off and have the car running if you know where they were when the car is Running you put it in that spot. Some time you get it Right some time you have to do it again. The Gas gauge is the Hard one if you ask me, but you on the right track to fixing it.

410, unfortunately, that trick doesn't work, and I know from experience. When installing my white faces, I followed the instructions to start the truck and note where the needles sat. What I didn't do was remove the pin (needle stops) first. The speedo seems to have a little pre-load in it, and almost points at the "R" on the gear selector when the pin is removed. What I had to do was leave the cover off, and pace someone around my block at 30 MPH, and put the needle on (a bit tricky). I did a pretty good job, because I have even paced some friends at 50+, and I am within a 1 or 2 MPH, which I can live with. My suggestion for the tach is to call a dealer, and find out what the normal idle is. My 98 Ex idles around 1000-1100 RPM's. All you have to do is start the truck, let it run for a minute, and put the needle on at the correct location. The fuel gauge is easy, go fill the tank, and place the needle at the full mark. The volt and oil gauge should read in about the middle. When cold, the temp needle will be near the "C". Hope this helps.
