Can someone tell me what part this and I see the tubes look cut. Do I need it, can I repair it or buy a new one?

Vacuum canister and vacuum lines

You for sure should
Hook it up
You need a vacuum canister it holds engine vacuum for the brakes and dash and engine.

The line that goes to it has a
Check valve in it so vacuum can only
Flow one direction.
I believe that is what we see in Picture one where the two lines come together

Inspect the lines for any holes or cracks or issues
The canister has a bracket that holds it on top of the hvac box if it is missing you can secure it with zip ties or wire, it should not be loose in the engine bay lol

Awesome thanks for the info. The canister was attached to hvac box with two screws. I removed it for the photo. The lines were definitely not connected and I’ll try and reconnect them. I need a rubber sleeve for it. I’ll pick one up and connect it tomorrow. My spouse has been driving it for years without it and now that I’ve gained interest in trying to fix the car myself I’m noticing these things.

that hardline plastic hose can , and should be replaced rather than trying to sleeve. You may not be able to locate locally at an autoparts shop with the correct hardline with the original outside diameter or correct size check valve, but can be found online & dealership.
If need to sleeve hardline temporarily, recommend heatshrink tube.

Can you send me a direct message on possibly where I could find one

Sleeve can be used if it is long enough and can even introduce some
Glue on both sides to make sure it seals
